Six arrested in connection to Kings Langley murder

Dear Resident
Six arrests have been made in connection to the murder of a man in Kings Langley and detectives are seeking key information about a white Volkswagen Golf car.

Mustapha Jatta, aged 30, brutally lost his life, during what police described as an execution-style killing, after he was shot in Railway Terrace, Kings Langley at around 12.33am on Tuesday 17 September 2024.

Fifteen minutes later at around 12.45am, the white Volkswagen Golf used during the incident was set on fire in Furtherfield, Abbots Langley.

As part of enquiries, detectives are keen to hear from anyone who remembers seeing a white Volkswagen Golf GTD (pictured) in the North Watford area between 7 and 17 September last year. The vehicle had a square yellow sticker in the top corner on the driver’s side of the windscreen and a blue/white sticker in the top corner on the passenger side of the windscreen.

Over the last 10 days several arrests have been made and a number of warrants conducted as officers continue to work to identify those responsible for Mustapha’s murder and others who may have been involved:

  • A 20-year-old man from Watford has been arrested on suspicion of murder
  • A second 20-year-old man from Watford has been arrested on suspicion of murder
  • A 19-year-old man from Watford has been arrested on suspicion of murder
  • An 18-year-old man from Watford has been arrested on suspicion of murder
  • A 22-year-old man from Watford has been arrested on suspicion of murder
  • A 36-year-old man from London has been arrested on suspicion of murder
  • Detective Inspector Adam Bridges, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are actively exploring new lines of enquiry into Mustapha’s murder.

“As a result, we have recently arrested and interviewed a number of people in connection with this case.

“Following that, we are keen to hear from anyone who remembers seeing the VW Golf in the North Watford area in the weeks prior to the incident.

“If you have any information which could help, please do the right thing and come forward and work with us.

“Those arrested are on police bail with strict conditions, as enquiries continue into this very active investigation.”
